This year’s American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting was hosted November 2-5 in Washington, DC. The Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy had many students and faculty present, sharing their work and connecting with colleagues in the field.

The Center also proudly hosted two vibrant social gatherings that brought together students, alumni, faculty, and colleagues in public health. A warm and lively alumni breakfast was hosted on Tuesday morning, where current students, graduates, and faculty gathered to reconnect over coffee and conversation. The event offered an opportunity to celebrate professional milestones and strengthen ties across generations of Center scholars. On Tuesday evening, the Center was honored to co-host the annual ICEHS (Injury Control and Emergency Health Services) Section Awards Dinner in partnership with Special Olympics International. This special evening brought together approximately 75 attendees to recognize students’ accomplishments as well as outstanding contributions to the field of injury and violence prevention. Held in the elegant setting of the Hopkins Bloomberg Center located at 555 Pennsylvania Ave NW, the dinner celebrated award recipients whose work has shaped policy, advanced research, and saved lives across communities.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us at APHA 2025 and look forward to many more moments of connection in the future.
