Memorial to Celebrate the Life of Michael Matunis

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department and the Matunis family will hold a memorial to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Professor Michael J. Matunis (1964-2026)

Professor Michael J. Matunis was an exceptional scientist and a devoted mentor and leader in the Johns Hopkins Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department. The Department and the Matunis family invites all who knew Mike to a memorial to honor and celebrate his life and legacy. 

The memorial will start with a series of remarks in Sommer Hall (E2014) at 5 p.m., followed by a reception in the 9th floor cafe space. A virtual option is available.

Those who knew Mike are also invited to share any memories, stories and thoughts with the Department and the Matunis family.
