Research Interests

With expertise in epidemiologic study design, data management, statistical analysis, and translating findings into actionable recommendations, I specialize in addressing critical public health challenges. My research interests span a wide range of topics, including vaccines, infectious disease, water access, cancer, mental health, environmental health, and global health, with a focus on Native American populations.

Overview

Dr. Chelsea Kettering (Dine - Clans: Deeshchii'nii, Tachii'nii, Kinyaani, To'aheedliinii) is an Epidemiologist by training with a deep-rooted commitment to advancing public health in Native American and rural communities. Growing up on and near the Navajo Nation reservation (Gallup, Chinle, and Lukachukai), she has firsthand understanding of the health disparities that disproportionately affect these communities. This personal experience drives her passion for research and policy that aims to improve health care access and outcomes.
