Rural Health Seminars
The Rural Health Initiative is an exploratory campaign led by the Office of Research to support conversations within the Bloomberg School on best practices in managing and researching various topics in public health in rural communities.
Our seminars feature discussions between external and Bloomberg School researchers who are pioneering approaches to serve public health interventions and address barriers in rural communities.

Global Strategies for U.S. Rural Health
On October 30, 2025, research@BSPH hosted an informal hybrid discussion, featuring Emily Haroz, PhD, MHS, MA, associate professor in International Health, and Pamela Collins, MD, MPH, chair and professor in Mental Health.
Both speakers discussed their experience working internationally and how they apply these approaches to work with U.S. populations. BSPH investigators, students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds attended this hybrid event.
Grants360: Rural Health
At this Grants360 session on June 11 2025, BSPH investigators discussed rural health as a critically important yet underdeveloped area of focus within the School. Leaders of domestic work in rural health, researchers with skills translatable from a global to a U.S. setting, and parties eager to collaborate gathered to take the first steps to address U.S. rural health issues.
