The Chang Foundation Doctoral Fund

For doctoral student support. Selection preference is for international doctoral students who express a desire to return to their home countries.

The Delta Omega Dr. Timothy Baker Award for International Health Development

Established in 2014 by the Delta Omega Alpha Chapter, the Dr. Timothy Baker Award for International Health Development honors the life and legacy of this memorable professor of International Health and longtime Alpha Chapter Board member. Dr. Baker, a pioneer in disease and injury burden, was among the first to recognize the importance of injury as a cause of disability, especially in low income countries. He was the Co-founder of the Department of International Health and in 1993, he was recognized with a lifetime achievement award from the American Public Health Association. His career spanned 50 years and included work in more than 40 countries. This award recognizes a newly inducted member of the Delta Omega Alpha Chapter, who is a proponent of the poor and vulnerable, and who works for the cause of social justice and international health. There is no application process to be considered for this award. The recipient will be chosen from each year's list of new inductees.

 

The Diana Hess Memorial Fund

Application Period Closed

The award is based on academic and professional accomplishments. Preference is given to those planning to work in Africa, but this is not a requirement for receipt of the award.

The Dr. Harry J. Lawler Award Fund

The award recognizes the work of an outstanding student in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology and provides support for further study.

The Dr. Lloyd and Mae Rozeboom Scholarship

The scholarship supports students who are studying medical entomology/vector biology in the W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology.

The Elsa Orent Keiles Fellowship in Human Nutrition in International Health

This fellowship was established in 1996 with a bequest from the estate of Elsa Orent Keiles, ScD ’25, a graduate of the Department of Chemical Hygiene (now Biochemistry and Molecular Biology). In keeping with Dr. Keiles’ research interests, the award provides tuition support for graduate students with demonstrated financial need in the Program in Human Nutrition in the Department of International Health.

The Flumenbaum Scholarship Fund

Support for doctoral students who are pursuing research related to refugee and disaster response. If no eligible applicant, the department will select an IH student either masters or doctoral.

The Freeman Family Fund

The gift will be used to benefit the Department of International Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health as an endowed gift to be held in perpetuity for doctoral student support bearing the name of The Freeman Family Fund (“Fund”).

The Harry D. Kruse Fellowship in Nutrition
